Lakbima’s Christy banned from covering Presidential media events for insulting the President |

The Presidential Media Unit has informed the Presidential Security Division not to permit Christy Mahesh de Silva from the Lakbima newspaper to cover any future events of the President for allegedly insulting the President by writing an article for Irida Lakbima quoting Ports and Aviation Minister Chamal Rajapakse that Medamulana politics was 75 years.
However, it is learnt that the respective article had been written for Irida Lakbima by Manjula Pradeep and a correction had been carried in the newspaper the following day.
The President had however summoned the Managing Director of Lakbima newspapers and Western Provincial Councilor Thilanga Sumathipala and scolded him about the article. |
