| W. Premadasa had first walked into the office with a T-56 weapon while Ukkuwa’s son in law, Sampath had poured fuel to the house and office from a plastic container.
Sampath’s clothes have also caught fire and the attackers have quickly saved him from being burnt. However, he is currently receiving treatment for a few burn injuries.
One of the vehicles that had been used in the attack had been Karawala Ranjith’s Dolphin van bearing number JI 7962. It is also reported that the other vehicle used in the attack was hidden behind Sanath Nishantha’s residence till yesterday (5).
The police official also said this group was planning to set fire to the residence and prawn farm belonging to SLFP (M) Wing member Niluka Ekanayake in Chilaw in the next few days. |
