The main aim of the newspaper is to promote the development activities undertaken by the government.

Former Editor of the Dinamina newspaper C. Dodawatte has been chosen to edit the newspaper and he has already been assigned to the National Development Center from Lake House.

Dodawatte was transferred to Training Department after he published a wrong birth date for the President and is well known in the media fraternity as an NGO man.

Political analysts say appointing this individual to such a government position would place the government in a difficult position as he is well known to provide information and documents about shortcomings in the government to NGOs.
Lake House sources said that steps have also been taken to assign two female journalists from the Features section in Dinamina to this new endeavour.

They added there was an unseen reason behind assigning the two respective female journalists to the National Development Center.

One of the female journalists is known to provide articles to various publications issued by NGOs.
