The Sri Lanka Working Journalists Association (SLWJA) moved into its own office building 30 years after its formation.

Editors Siri Ranasinghe (Lankadeepa), Gamini Sumanasekera (Divaina), Sundara Nihathamana de Mel (Irida Lakbima), Jatila Wellaboda (Lakbima), Champika Liyanarachchi (Daily Mirror), Sisira Paranathanthri (Rivira) and A.M.N. Ameen (Navamani) attended the ceremony held at the new office building at Pradeepa Mawatha in Maligawatte, Colombo 10. SWJA President Poddala Jayantha and members of the association were also present.

Chairperson of Harsha International, Himani Wijetunge who provided financial assistance to construct the building also attended the ceremony.
