JVP Leader Somawansa Amerasinghe says that Asian countries should work together to position themselves in the global political arena.
He made this statement at the fifth International Conference of Asian Political Parties in Aspana, Kazakhstan from September 24-27.
The JVP Leader said that although India and China contributed immensely to the global economy, the countries have not received its due position in the global political arena. He pointed out that Asian countries should take the challenge of controlling the global economy, politics and culture in the next century and that all Asian countries needed to reunite for the purpose.
The summit was attended by 135 members representing 76 political parties from 40 Asian countries. The JVP was represented by its leader Somawansa Amerasinghe and Western Provincial Councilor Nalinda Jayatissa.
