Unauthorized propaganda material put up outside election offices |

People’s Action for Free and Fair Election (PAFFREL) has informed the Elections Commissioner that illegal propaganda boards of UPFA candidates are being put up outside the offices of the assistant elections commissioners in the Galle, Matara and Hambantota Districts in the Southern Province.
Executive Director of the Movement, S.G. Punchihewa said that illegal propaganda boards and advertisements are commonly seen in every city in the Hambantota District.
PAFFREL had further informed the Elections Commissioner that the lack of interest shown by the Elections Commissioner’s Department with regard to the

violation of election laws in the Southern Provincial Council election and not discussing the violations with the party leaders on a daily basis was further encouraging Alliance candidates to violate election laws.
Meanwhile, the PAFFREL website has been blocked since the 23rd.
