Sources from the northern IDP camps say the people residing in these camps are faced with a severe drinking water shortage. Although this news was recorded by Lanka News Web several weeks back, authorities have not taken necessary action to address the issue.
Sources said the displaced persons are forced to flock around 1 a.m. and 2 a.m. to make sure the received at least part of their drinking water requirement for the day.
It is also learnt that the inhumane military rule at the IDP camps does not permit the displaced persons to consume any food items brought to them by their relatives. The people therefore are faced with many difficulties and are living in discomfort.
