Sajin Vass also promoted Fonseka’s removal |

The President’s Foreign Affairs Coordinator, Sajin Vass Gunawardena has stated that he pushed for former Army Chief General Sarath Fonseka’s removal.
Sajin Vass had made this statement during a friendly discussion with a few friends following a political meeting in Ambalangoda recently.
He was attending an alms giving in Ambalangoda on July 10, the day Fonseka attended a felicitation ceremony in the same area.
The closure of roads in Amabalangoda due to Fonseka’s arrival had delayed the food for the alms giving that was being brought down from a five star hotel in Colombo. |

Security forces had also removed several shelters put up to offer alms due to security reasons. Angered by the whole scenario, Sajin Vass had immediately telephoned the President and informed him of the situation.
The President had then called Fonseka and reprimanded him for creating such a situation in the Ambalangoda area. Soon after being reprimanded by the President for closing the roads in Amabalangoda, Fonseka during his speech took a swipe at the political authorities explaining the pressure exerted on him during the final phase of the war.
Sources from temple Trees said that although the incident related to Sajin Vass played a role in Fonseka’s removal as the Army Chief, the main reason was the reading received by Basil Rajapakse on then Army Chief’s horoscope.
A JHU monk told the website that while the LTTE failed in its attempt to assassinate Fonseka and remove him from the war, the President has now managed to remove Fonseka from the military establishment.

The Thero had advised everyone to play an impartial role by not taking sides, as the battles would definitely intensify.
