Parliamentarian Sanath Jayasuriya has lost several of his powerful talismans at the R. Premadasa Cricket Stadium recently. The eight talismans have been made out of gold.

Some one had stolen Jayasuriya’s talismans while he was practicing for a dancing competition to be held in India.

Jayasuriya was being trained by former cricketer Akalanka Ganegama that day.

Jayasuriya had removed the talismans on his neck and waist before commencing practices and stored them in a safe.

He had informed the security personnel that the talismans had not been there when he had tried to take them back after practices.

A special police team had arrived at the scene following a request made by Jayasuriya from the Defence Secretary. However, they have been unable to identify any suspects and make any arrests.

Among the talismans that have been stolen are three powerful talismans he had owned since 1994. Jayasuriya is reportedly distressed by the loss of talismans.
