The Kataragama Police has taken into custody four persons who had cursed before God Kadavara and dashed coconuts wishing harm to the persons who had sold their lands to businessmen in Kataragama after gem mines were found in the area.

The President has been angered after one of his astrologers had predicted that he had started to experience some problems with one arm after these cruses. A directive was immediately issued to the Kataragama Police OIC to arrest the persons who had dashed coconuts.

Four persons who living in lands adjoining the Kataragama gem mines had been arrested by the police and when lawyers have pointed out that these persons had not committed or aided any crime, they had been released without even recording a statement.
