Actress Anarkali Akarsha who is to contest at the Southern Provincial Council election from the Galle District has told several friends that although she agreed to contest due to requests made by the President, First Lady and their eldest son Namal Rajapakse, she “has not received any of the things promised by Namal Aiya.”
Namal Rajapakse had promised Anarkali that he would provide financial assistance for the organizing and publicity for her election campaign as well as provide the fullest support of his Tharunyata Hetak organization.
Anarakali officially launched her election campaign yesterday (1) with the help of one of her uncles and financial backer of the JHU, Nahil Wijesuirya. He has also agreed to provide the pool area at his Continental Hotel for Anarkali to hold her special meetings. |
